Hi. I took my 2yr old daughter to the only dentist that her state funded medical pays for. He told me she has baby bottle decay, and ALL her teeth need to be capped! That he needed to put her under, and do the work. He was very rude and not good with my daughter. He said if I wanted sedation, I'd have to get a referral elsewhere. So I did. The pediatric dentist looked in her mouth and said she does not have bottle decay! She has stained teeth and some cavities in about 5 teeth. But same thing, wanted to put her under G/A. And no matter how I disagreed, she made it seem that this way my only real option. Saying it would take about 5 trips to fill all her cavities, that they could only do 1 or 2 at the most per visit. I agreed at the time, though I still was uneasy about it. So her appt is next Monday, and I called today and told them I changed my mind and wanted the sedation. The receptionist seemed to give me a slight attitude, saying she'll have to discuss it w/the dentist, because he's going to have to use a papoose board now. What is a papoose board exactly? And do they sedate her first? And why can they only do 1 or 2 fillings per visit? When I was 4, I had sedation, and they capped 2 teeth, and filled 3 all at one time. Why is it different now? Also, I just found out today that this is the dental office of the 1st dentist that misdiagnosed her at the other dental site! Now I really feel uneasy. What should I do? My options are so limited due to the fact that she's on state medical.

Sorry, my post should have said that the dentist said it would take about 5 visits to do all her teeth with sedation.

Ok, so I just talked to the dentist again, and the girl said her chart says she has 8 cavities in her molars. And the dentist refuses to do sedation with this amount of work on a 2 yr old. So my ONLY option is G/A. I don't understand why. And they said it may take over 5 visits, because they may only get 1 tooth done. And that sedatin is mainly for older children that can respond when they tell them to stop moving. He RUFUSES to do it w/sedation! And they'll referr me back to my original dentist, who referred me to them in the first place. What am I suppose to do?!?!
