My 3 yr old has 5 or more cavities. He was very uncooperative and bit hard on the dental pick and bent it. He has a definate issues with his mouth. He doesn't like certain textures, food, etc. The dentist wants to fill the teeth and take xrays in the hospital under general anesthesia. My insurance won't pay for work done in the hospital but it will pay for anesthesia in the dental office. I like the idea of getting everything done quickly under GA. His pediatrician suggested iv sedation in the dental office. My understanding is that with concious sedation children still fight and scream but they don't rember the procedure. I want the least cruel procedure done and it breaks my heart to think of him fighting while the procedure is done and it also makes me wonder if it would still be difficult to do the work if he is uncooperative.

i faced one case like that before, one of the treatment plans suggested, to inform parents the importance of retaining these teeth till permenant erupts, then maintain good oral hygiene and to fix time for eating sweets and cariogenic food to stop carious to procceed in teeth at least OR instead general anaesthesia..

Its very difficult to handle small kid but you should go to your near dental clinic and take proper advise from the dentist.
