Hi, I took my daughter to the Dentist today and I was told she had four cavities, three of which will need to have silover caps. I hate to see her with all that silver in her mouth. I wanted to know if this seems like the correct treatment. Why can't they just be filled. My Dentist was rather vague and didn't explain to much. should I get a second opinion. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Dear eddiec,
Stainless steel caps are placed on baby teeth when the cavity is relatively large or deep.
Amalgam fillings are fine only when the cavity is small.

I had the same problem. I went and my 4 year old also needs 3 silver caps. It is breaking my heart. What was the outcome for you and how did it work out? Thank you

I also just found out that my 3 year old needs 2 silver caps. I am very distraught over this.... how did your treatments go?? Did your dentist use any form of sedation?? How bad does the silver look??
Thanks for your input.
