Our 4yr old daughter is scheduled to extract 3 teeth. 2 of the the teeth had baby root canals done and apparently failed. The 3rd tooth has a dropped out filling, but it is the tooth beside it that will be extracted.
We have been seeing 3 dentists all with seemingly conflicting opinions (we are due to see a 4th).
Doctor 1 who is a family dentist did the original root canals suggests monitoring the first 2 teeth (i.e. no extraction) and doing a baby root canal on the 3rd. The first 2 teeth recovered from the baby root canal very well and it has been 2 months since the procedure. Recently, there was a small bubble above 1 of the 2 teeth the size of a pinhead. It has been 2 weeks and it has not gone beyond that size. He examined th x-rays of the 3rd tooth to be extracted, but does not agree and recommends a baby root canal.
Doctor 2 who is a pediatric dentist suggests extracting all three teeth (to be done in 2 weeks time).
When recommendations were reviewed by each dentist. Dentist 1 says, yes they may need to be extracted, but it is better to monitor and try to save the teeth first. As long as the bubble does not become large, it will be safe. Dentist 2 says the primary teeth may get infected and we should extract given that reason.
We do not want our child to lose her teeth if possible, but we do want to endanger her as well. Please, we are looking for any opinions and suggestions.
Thanks.

I'm really scared of the topics I've read in this forum. Why do you allow to spoil your baby's teeth? May be it is better to spend some time in order to find realy professional dantist then to waist your money and time with those who you tried?

I'll try to consult with my dantist and ask about your baby problem...
